Pastor
Pete and Cathryn Worth

Pete and Cathryn joined the church in 2000. Since then their family has grown to include Olivia and Charis.
Pete trained in London and Oxford. Prior to this he had worked for a number of years in banking, sales and the ICT industry. His preference is for Apple Macs but his knowledge is extensive and gets many a Windows PC out of trouble. Though of an age when most people get their pipe and slippers out on Friday nights he is still turning up for the social five-a-side. He also dreams of Aston Villa winning the Premiership, but that too seems as likely as him playing in the top-flight.
Cathryn has her own interests working part time as corporate and trust fundraising manager for the local charity, Cure Leukaemia.
This is Pete's second full-time pastorate having previously been in Foleshill, Coventry. The contrast between there and Barnt Green couldn't have been greater but the spiritual need is as great.
Pete's vision is to help the church write Acts 29, the next chapter for God's church. He is gifted as a pastor, giving time and space to those who come with emotional need. His teaching is characterised by clear and relevant examples that encourage and guide.
His recent sabbatical (2003) focussed on the nature of faith and church in the modern society. Pete was able to visit the Willow Creek church in Chicago, with whom he has good contacts, as well as other leading churches in the UK. His aim was to explore what it is that draws people in today's society into church. What is it that the church should be doing or changing about itself that will make it easier for folk to walk in and take interest?
